What percentage of your brain do you use?

Humans engage 100 percent of their brains, despite a popular myth that only 10 percent is used. Functional brain imaging studies show that people are capable of activating all parts of their brains when exposed to different contexts. However, not all of the brain is necessarily engaged at all times.

Neurological research demonstrates that no part of the brain is dormant. Most neurons are continually firing, and removal of almost any part of the brain results in some loss of function. Furthermore, if people used less than 100 percent of their brains, the resulting brain damage from injury and diseases would not be so catastrophic.
