What is a French Bulldog brindle?

A brindle French Bulldog is a French Bulldog whose coat color is a pattern of dark and light stripes. This color pattern is called brindle and can be found in many other dog breeds. French Bulldogs can have an entirely brindle coat or a mix of brindle and white.

In addition to brindle, the American Kennel Club recognizes fawn and white as acceptable colors for French Bulldogs. Brindle French Bulldogs usually have a light base color with darker stripes. "Tiger-striped" is a common colloquial name for brindle coloring, but it can be misleading because brindle stripes are usually subtle. Some brindle dogs appear to be solid-colored until seen at close range.
