What is a Golden Mountain Dog?

A Golden Mountain Dog is a hybrid or mixed-breed dog resulting from breeding a Golden Retriever and a Bernese Mountain Dog. Not all Golden Mountain Dogs are the result of a 50-50 breeding. They fall in the sporting and working dog classifications of dog breeds.

The Golden Mountain Dog breed is recognized by the American Canine Hybrid Club, the Designer Breed Registry and the International Designer Canine Registry but not by the American Kennel Club. Golden Mountain Dogs are loyal and affectionate dogs that are easy to train. They are very active dogs, make good watchdogs and are easy to groom, only requiring brushing every few days.
