What do grizzly bears eat?

Grizzly bears have an omnivorous diet that consists of fungi, berries, seeds, roots, grass, fish and larger game like elk and deer and will also consume dead animals. Grizzly bears will fish for salmon if possible and will also go after ground squirrels if the opportunity presents its self. In some cases, grizzly bears have been known to kill domestic livestock, such as sheep and cattle.
Grizzly bears live in habitats such as, prairies, woodlands, alpine meadows and forests and often prefer to stay in areas that are close to streams, rivers and other bodies of water. Some grizzly bears can survive until they are 30 years old in the wild, while most actually perish before reaching an age of 25 years old.
