What is a lesser ball Python?

Lesser ball pythons are a color variation, or morph, of the ball python, which is a snake that is often kept as a pet. The lesser morph affects the way the pigmentation is displayed on the snake's skin.
Snakes with the lesser morph will display blushing, or a gradient of pigmentation around the circumference of their bodies. The morph is the result of codominant genes, or genes which affect the same thing without masking each other. Snakes with both copies of the same gene are leucistic, with reduced pigmentation throughout their bodies, white skin and blue eyes. Snakes with only one copy will display blushing and a softer, more yellow coloration.
