What is a Morkie?

A morkie is a cross between a Yorkshire terrier and a Maltese. Morkies may adopt the characteristics of either parent breed but are usually characterized by high amounts of energy and a friendly disposition.

Morkies are small dogs, weighing less than 10 pounds when fully grown and measuring less than 12 inches in length. Their fur color can be any mix of the parent breeds, with brown or beige colorations being the most common. Morkies do not shed much or produce a lot of dander, making them a good choice for a dog owner with allergies.

Morkies are prone to territoriality, which can lead to excessive barking around strangers. They are also known for willfulness and may be difficult to potty train.
