What is the phobia of grasshoppers called?

A person who has an abnormal fear of grasshoppers is referred to as having acridophobia. Those with acridophobia may prefer to stay indoors during the summer months to avoid coming in contact with the insect. Entomophobia is an extreme fear of insects in general.
As with all phobias, these conditions are not contagious or hereditary — they are learned. Although most insects are not dangerous to humans, the irrational fear of bugs may be based on logical reasoning. Some bugs, such as mosquitos, may carry diseases such as malaria or typhus. Insects such as bees may cause serious harm to an individual who is allergic, thus creating a more logical explanation for a phobia of certain insects.
