Across many different cultures, the phoenix symbolizes rebirth. It is said to die by bursting into flames, then is reborn from its ashes where it lives another lifetime.
The phoenix is a large, majestic bird. It comes in many colors such as red, yellow and purple and is associated with the rising sun. When it's time for the bird to die, it makes a nest as its own pyre and soon bursts into flames. Once it burns to death, it rises from its ashes and flies away.
Many cultures believe that when a phoenix is reborn, it lays an egg and offers its young to the Sun God.
