Starbucks claims that Pike Place Roast is the "smoothest" cup of coffee it offers. The company exclusively uses Arabica beans to brew its coffee and recommends Pike Peak as the perfect accompaniment to sweet things.
Pike Place is considered a medium roast coffee. The roast refers to the amount of time that the beans are roasted and the color that they take on when they are finished roasting. The beans of Pike Place are roasted for about 15 minutes until they turn medium to dark brown.
