Pike's Peak is located in Pike National Forest in the Rocky Mountains of El Paso County, Colorado. It is situated approximately 11 miles from the city of Colorado Springs.

Pike's Peak, standing at 14,115 feet, is a National Historic Landmark and the tallest peak in the Southern Front Range of the Rocky Mountains. The mountain is named after Zebulon Pike, an explorer who attempted to reach its summit in 1806 but failed. The summit of Pike's Peak is subject to a polar climate due to its elevation. It is located approximately 76 miles from Denver, which is the capital of Colorado.
