How do you play handball?

To play handball, the correct equipment must be gathered and the each player should know how to serve, return the serve and rally. A match is won by the first side to win two games, with each game played to 21 points, according to the Southern California Handball Association

1. Gather the equipment

   Gloves and goggles must be worn, and the correct ball to be played with is a rubbery ball that is about 1 7/8 inches in diameter. Make sure the handball court is of regulation size with a service line, short line and restraining line.

2. Serve the ball

   The ball must be served from a stationary position in the service zone, which is between the service line and the short line. It must be bounced once by the server and then struck with the hand or fist so that it hits the front wall and bounces behind the short line for its first bounce.

3. Return serve and rally

   The receiver must stand behind the restraining line until the ball is struck by the server. To return the serve, strike the ball either in the air or after one bounce so that it hits the front wall in the air. The ball can hit off of either side wall and ceiling so long as it makes it to the front wall.

4. Keep score to 21

   Only the person serving can score a point. When the receiver wins a point, it is then his turn to serve.
