What is a plume fossil?

The plume fossil is used to recreate Archen in the games "Pokemon X" and "Pokemon Y." It is found by using the move "rock smash" on cracked boulders in Glittering Cave. Doing this may uncover other fossils such as the dome fossil or the helix fossil.
Once in possession of the plume fossil, the character can take the fossil to the laboratory in Ambrette Town to restore Archen, a rock/flying-type Pokemon. Archen evolves into Archeops at level 37. Fossil Pokemon are unique within the Pokemon world because they were previously considered extinct. In regions other than Kalos, fossils can be found and revived through similar means.
