What is polystyrene adhesive?
By Forinfos - 13/05/2026 - 0 comments
Polystyrene adhesive is a form of glue that is designed to bond polystyrene, also known as Styrofoam or foam board, to itself or other materials. The adhesive, which often comes in a tube with an applicator tip or as an aerosol spray, is formulated to avoid degradation of the polystyrene.
Polystyrene itself is an inexpensive synthetic polymer with hard and brittle characteristics. While it is capable of adhering to other materials and surfaces using common glue, special types of adhesive such as Styroglue exist specifically for use on polystyrene, as it contains extremely small gaps of space between the cells. Exercise caution when working with polystyrene and chemical adhesives as both are flammable.
