According to Wikipedia, out of all the people who live in Rome and its surrounding areas, only about 9.5 percent are not Italian. The average age of a Roman resident is 43 years old, with around 17 percent of all Romans being under the age of 18. As of 2013, almost 20 percent of Rome's residents were retirees and between 2002 and 2007, the population grew by more than 6 percent. Italy's population as a whole only grew by 3.56 percent during the same time period.
