What is the premise of the game Crazy Taxi?

Crazy Taxi is an arcade-style game in which you play a taxi driver trying to get as many people to their destinations as possible before you run out of time. The game has two additional modes of play- Original and Crazy Box- that have different rules from Arcade mode.

Arcade mode begins with a few minutes on the clock and adds extra time whenever a fare is completed. Original mode is different in that a set number of minutes is given in which to play without adding extra time. Crazy Box mode has the player strive for specific goals while driving on closed courses.
