What is the premise of the movie "Cars"?

The premise of the animated family film "Cars" is that fame and glory are not everything, and what is most important in life can not be bought or achieved simply by winning at everything. The audience learns this through the eyes of a race car by the name of Lightning McQueen.

Lighting believes that winning is everything until he is forced to assist in the repairing of a road he burned out in a down-and-out town called Radiator Springs. Through the vehicle citizens, he learns that there are much more important aspects to life than being on top, and that winners can be found almost anywhere.
