The price of a prosthetic leg varies depending on many factors including the material used, the size of the artificial appendage and the amount of mobility the patient expects to achieve, according to CostHelper. The two variants that result in the most significant price increases are size and computerization.
Prosthetic legs vary in cost from around $5,000 up to $70,000, explains CostHelper. A basic below-the-knee prosthetic that allows the patient to walk on flat ground costs between $5,000 and $7,000. A computer-assisted prosthesis for above-the-knee amputees could carry a cost of as much as $70,000, which includes a prosthetic foot.
