What are some problems with biofuels?
By Forinfos - 08/11/2025 - 0 comments
Some problems with biofuels are the expense of production, producing the same crops every year and the use of large amounts of water. Other problems with biofuels are food shortages and rising food costs.
Biofuel production is expensive because, as demand increases, production becomes a long-term operation, which costs more money. Producing the same crops each year, although profitable for farmers, can deny the soil of nutrients that are provided through the rotation of crops. Using too much water can strain regional and local water resources. Biofuels can cause food shortages, which can cause food prices to rise, because they are made from plants and crops that are also used as food.
