What are some problems with using waterless coolant?
By Forinfos - 12/04/2026 - 0 comments
Waterless coolants are expensive and not readily available. Additionally, these coolants can ignite if released at temperatures above the 266-degree Fahrenheit flash point. Accidental spills of waterless coolants can also make tarmac roads dangerously slippery
Evans Cooling Systems is the sole supplier of waterless engine coolants as of 2015. Consequently, users of the waterless coolant may have to travel great distances to access the product. Waterless coolants are not compatible with ordinary coolants. Waterless coolants cost about $40 per gallon, which is more than double the cost of ordinary coolants, so using the coolant on machinery with a high coolant capacity is not economical.
