Is there any proof of zombies?

Though different cultures across the world have different versions of a reanimated corpse legend, there is no verifiable indication that zombies have ever actually existed. While there may be verifiable historical records of people engaging in zombie like behavior such as cannibalism, there is no evidence to suggest that corpses can actually be revived.
The use of the word "zombie" can be traced back to Haitian religious folklore associated with the Vodou (Voodoo) belief system. Though there have been some historical reports of people either claiming to be zombies or having been described as zombies by other people, most of the zombie-like symptoms can be traced back to drug use or mental illness.
