What does a PTO switch control?
By Forinfos - 03/03/2025 - 0 comments
A power take off, or PTO, switch is used in vehicles to control engine speed, as well as in applications such as concrete mixers, dump trucks and refuse vehicles. Additionally, it is used to protect auxiliary devices that are powered by the engine.
With the control switches on a PTO switch the operator has access to three preprogrammed engine speeds. All operations are carried out below the PTO maximum vehicle speed level which is set by the operator. PTO maximum engine speed, PTO minimum engine speed and PTO service brake override are some other parameters that are set according to the application. PTO switches also work with the accelerator using the PTO accelerator override parameter.
