A study published in 2010 in Archives of Gynecology and Obstetrics reported that Pueraria mirifica was effective in relieving menopausal symptoms. A double-blind randomized controlled trial published in 2008 reported that Pueraria mirifica improved dyslipidemia in postmenopausal women.
Pueraria mirifica is an herb that may also be called kwao krua. It contains chemicals that appear to have an estrogen-like effect, says Drugs.com. It is often sold in creams or tablets purporting to enlarge breasts or have an anti-aging effect, but there is no scientific evidence supporting these uses. The evidence that is available may support its use for menopause and menopause-related conditions.
