How do you put on aquarium backgrounds?

Aquarium backgrounds can be installed by selecting a pattern, cutting it to size, taping it to the outside of the aquarium and trimming to fit. Most aquarium backgrounds come in standard aquarium sizes or can be purchased by length. The background is usually a repeated aquatic pattern with an opaque solid color on the backside.

In order to install an aquarium background:

1. Prepare the aquarium and select the background

Set up the aquarium with ornaments and rocks. Determine the background design and adequate size to entirely cover the back of the aquarium.

2. Install the background

Attach the background to the top and one side with clear tape, making it perfectly flush with the glass and tight against the glass to prevent any rippling. Trim any excess from the other side before attaching.
