What do you put into a budgie's nesting box?

Nesting material is the only item that should be put in a budgie's nesting box. The nesting material should be nonfibrous and nontoxic.
If the nesting material is made of fibers, the parent or chick may end up getting winded up by them. Instances of suitable nesting materials are odor-free, dust-free pine or aspen shavings and corn cob bedding. Instances of unsuitable nesting materials are potpourri, paper towels, leaves, toilet paper and grass.
Chicks should be given food using suitable hand-feeding supplies. Cleaning the nesting box daily after the chicks are born is important. A nesting box with a rough bottom, a concave shape at one portion and can be hung outside the budgies' cage is a good choice.
