What are some questions to ask a war veteran?

Some suitable questions for interviewing a war veteran include what war he served in, what branch of service he served, where he served and what was his rank. Other questions may include why he chose to enlist, how did he feel about his service, whether or not he saw combat and what did he do to cope with the difficulties of war.

The interviewer can also ask a veteran about a typical day on the front lines, about any decorations and awards he may have received, the date of discharge, about their feelings when they returned home and what did they do when the war was over.
