What is a racoon's habitat?
By Forinfos - 17/10/2025 - 0 comments
Mixed and deciduous forests are the original habitats of the raccoon. These animals are found across most of the territory of North America due to their adaptability to various habitats, which include coastal marshes, mountainous areas and even urban areas.
The number of raccoons has increased significantly in the last few decades as they are no longer actively hunted. Their ideal habitat is an area with water close by and with small stands of timber. Raccoons also prefer areas with vegetable or corn fields.
In urban areas, raccoons are often found raiding garbage dumps. Common locations in the wilderness include rock holes, groundhog holes and hollow trees.
