The highest annual average rainfall in the United States is on Mount Waialeale, a mountain on the island of Kauai in Hawaii. The island's average annual rainfall from 1931 to 1960 was about 460 inches, making it the wettest place in the world at the time. However, the rainfall has eased up there to only about 384 inches per year, as of 2014. Big Bog in Maui may be wetter, with an estimated 404 annual inches, but that is not confirmed.
