Some rare antique paperweights include a weight made by the New England Glass Company around 1850. This weight features bouquets of green, pink, blue and yellow leaves emanating from a millefiori center surrounded by latticinio swirls in clear glass.

Another rare paperweight was made for the 1878 Paris Exhibition and features four silkworms on a lily pad in blue glass. It was made by the Pantin Factory to commemorate Louis Pasteur's role in saving the silkworm from extinction. It is now at the Art Institute of Chicago.

One millefiori paperweight was created in the middle of the 19th century by the Clichy factory in France. Called "Basket of Flowers," it is in good condition save that its handle was broken off.
