How do you recognize canine seizures?
By Forinfos - 10/11/2025 - 0 comments
Most canine seizures can be identified by convulsions or loss of consciousness, according to WebMD. Other symptoms to look for are drooling, jerking and muscle twitches. Some dogs also urinate or have bowl movements during a seizure.
There are different types of canine seizures, each characterized by its own symptoms, notes WebMD. Focal seizures involve abnormal electrical functions in only one section of the brain, and the dog may show strange movement only on one side of the body. A psychomotor seizure is characterized by bizarre behavior that lasts merely minutes. Dogs experiencing psychomotor seizures may experience hallucinations and begin to attack things that are not really there.
