What is the recommended age for Pokémon games?

Most Pokémon games are suitable for adults and children of all ages, though each game has its own separate rating with the Entertainment Software Rating Board. As of September 2015, the most recent Pokémon game, "Super Mystery Dungeon," is rated for Everyone for mild cartoon violence.

All Pokémon games are free of the suggestive themes and crude humor that warrant a Teen rating, or the gore and sexual themes that warrant a Mature or Adults Only rating by the Entertainment Software Rating Board's standards. Other recent Pokémon games rated for Everyone include "X," "Y," "Omega Ruby" and "Alpha Sapphire," all of which contain comic mischief and mild cartoon violence.
