The dosage for CoQ10 varies depending on the condition; however, generally the recommended dosage for adults is between 22 and 400 milligrams, according to Mayo Clinic. CoQ10 is used to treat a broad range of conditions, including heart disease, diabetes and muscular dystrophy.
More severe conditions may require higher doses of CoQ10, such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or ALS, which has been treated with up to 3,000 milligrams per day for up to eight months, notes Mayo Clinic. Lower doses are more common and may be taken to treat migraines, nerve pain, kidney failure, hearing loss and gum disease. Additionally, CoQ10 is used to help with weight loss and improve exercise performance.
