What is a red ombre?

A red ombre is a type of hair coloring in which only the bottom one-third to one-half of long hair is dyed red, leaving the hair the natural color down to about the chin level. While the ombre look is fashionable as of 2014, red ombre is unusual.

While most ombre hair coloring focuses on turning the bottom portion of the hair a lighter color than the top, typically going for a blond or caramel shade, red ombre makes a more powerful fashion statement. Red ombre works well for women with dark brown hair who don't want to go blond and also sets off fair skin well.
