How do you register for the CNA certification exam?

As of 2015, registration for a certified nursing assistant certification exam requires the applicant to submit an application to the nursing board for the state in which an applicant would like to receive certification. Applicants usually must submit a fingerprint card and application fee in order to take the exam.
Nurses and nurse assistants receive their licenses or certifications through independent states' medical boards. Each state sets forth its own rules and regulations. Some states allow CNAs to transfer from another state. If an applicant is already a CNA in another state, an endorsement may be able to take the place of the exam.
