How do you remove corrosion on aluminum wheels?

An aluminum wheel cleaner and bristled brush can remove the corrosion on aluminum wheels. Once the corrosion is removed, the wheels requires frequent cleaning to prevent further buildup.

To remove corrosion on aluminum wheels, do the following:

1. Rinse and spray

Before using the spray, it is recommended to rinse the wheels with water first. Once the loose dirt has been removed with the water, spray each wheel with an aluminum wheel cleaner. There are many brands that make this type of cleaner.

2. Scrub and polish the wheels

Scrub each wheel with a soft bristled brush. The soft bristles will prevent scratches from the scrubbing. Clean all areas of the wheels, including the spokes and lug nuts. Rinse and dry the wheels when finished. Add wheel polish if desired.
