An easy way to remove hair extension glue is to soak it in almond oil, wait 20 minutes, and remove the adhesive with a comb. This 35-minute procedure requires almond oil, a small bowl, a pastry brush, a shower cap, a comb, baby wipes, mild shampoo, conditioner and a towel.
- Prepare the supplies
Pour 1/2 cup of almond oil into a small bowl. Close the bottle of oil.
- Apply the almond oil
Dip a pastry brush in the almond oil, and paint it over the extension glue. Swab liberal amounts of oil over all of the glue deposits.
- Cover your hair with a shower cap
Slip a plastic shower cap over your hair, and let the oil loosen the adhesive for 20 minutes.
- Remove the adhesive with a comb
Remove the shower cap, and comb through the glue deposits. After each stroke, wipe the comb on a pre-moistened wipe to remove the adhesive residue.
- Shampoo and condition your hair
Shampoo your hair with clarifying shampoo. Massage it firmly into your roots, and concentrate on the areas you treated with almond oil. Rinse with warm water, and then apply a light conditioner. Leave the conditioner on for 3 minutes, and rinse with cool water.
