To remove the write protection from the volume in Drive E, first locate Drive E and then edit the registry on the device before restarting the computer. To edit the registry, press the windows key + R buttons and run the regedit (registry editor) by pressing the enter button.
Follow the steps below to edit the registry.
- Locate the current control set
- Remove the write protection
- Check for other issues
Click the left pane under the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, find the Current Control Set and click on Services and USBSTOR.
Press the start button, and the disc should no longer be write protected.
If this process does not work then the problem likely stems from the electronic device rather than the disc.
