How do you renew your Texas Department of Public Safety driver's license?

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, here are four ways to renew a driver's license: online, by phone, by mail and in person. Not all people are eligible for all forms of renewal.

There are specific requirements that an individual must meet in order to renew a license online or by phone. Some of these requirements are that the license must have been renewed in person at the time of last renewal, it must be a renewal for a Class C or CM driver license, and the person renewing must be between the ages of 18 and 79 years.

Individuals are only eligible to renew by mail if they receive a renewal invitation in the mail. This invitation contains all required instructions on how to renew using this method.

All individuals are eligible to renew in person at a driver's license office and must appear at an office at least once every 12 years.
