How do you know when to replace your snow plow's pump?

Replace the pump on a snow plow when it is not operational even after efforts to clean and grease the pump have not proven to be effective. Snow plow pumps can easily corrode if the exposed chrome on lift cylinder rods and angle cylinders are not greased regularly.
Inspect the snow plow pump's filter as a preventative measure to preserve the life of the pump. The filter may need to be cleaned or replaced to keep the pump fully operational. Snow pumps are also at risk for foreign objects that lodge into the unit. Users should attempt to remove these objects to see if the pump operates before replacing.
