  1. Rinse the hair with vinegar and cream of tartar

    Mix a solution of white vinegar and cream of tartar. Apply the solution to the hair, and let it sit for 10 minutes. Rinse it out.

  2. Soak the hair in lemon juice

    Apply lemon juice to the hair, and leave it in for 10 minutes. Rinse it out.

  3. Shampoo with products designed for gray hair

    Add a tablespoon of baking soda to a shampoo designed for gray hair. Shampoo with this solution. The blue coloring of the shampoo helps to neutralize the red stains caused by rust on a temporary basis.
