How do I get rust out of my hair?

To remove rust from your hair, apply a paste of cream of tartar and vinegar, leave it on for 10 minutes, rinse, shampoo your hair and condition. This 25-minute procedure requires cream of tartar, vinegar, two bowls, a spoon, baking soda, shampoo, conditioner, a hairbrush and a towel.

1. Mix the treatment solution

   Place several spoonfuls of cream of tartar in a small bowl, and add enough vinegar to make a paste. Stir the mixture with a spoon.

2. Prepare your hair

   Remove your hair accessories, and brush your hair.

3. Apply the treatment

   Apply a thick layer of paste to the stained sections of your hair. Leave it on for 10 minutes.

4. Combine shampoo and baking soda

   Pour a small amount of your favorite shampoo into a small bowl, and add 2 tablespoons of baking soda. Stir the mixture thoroughly.

5. Rinse and shampoo your hair

   Rinse your hair with lukewarm water to remove the cream of tartar paste, and then shampoo your hair with the baking soda solution. Rinse your hair with cool water.

6. Apply conditioner

   Apply conditioner, and leave it on your hair for three minutes. If your hair and scalp are very dry, condition them for five minutes. Rinse with cool water and style as usual.
