Getting rid of a Vaseline stain is a simple process that can be completed in a few minutes. In order to get rid of a Vaseline stain, you will need a spoon, isopropyl alcohol, an absorbent pad, water, a spray bottle, paper towels and liquid dish washing detergent.
Scrape away Vaseline with a spoon
Using the spoon, scrape away as much of the Vaseline as you can, taking care not to damage the fabric as you do so. This initial step helps to reduce the amount of work that must be done with cleaning mixtures later.
Blot the stain with alcohol
Pour enough of the isopropyl alcohol onto the stain to make it damp. Wait for a few minutes, then blot the area with the absorbent pads. Continue this process until you cannot see any remaining residue.
Apply mild soap solution
Mix a tablespoon of dish detergent with 1 cup of water in your spray bottle. Spray this mixture onto the remnants of the Vaseline stain.
Dry the stain
Using a paper towel, blot the mixture and the stain until you cannot see any of the detergent. Wait for the clean damp spot on the fabric to dry by itself.
