How do you get rid of whiteflies?

Whiteflies can be killed with a homemade insecticidal soap, which includes 8 ounces of rubbing alcohol, 20 ounces of water and 1 tablespoon of liquid dish soap. These substances can be mixed together in a spray bottle. Multiple treatments are usually needed to end a whitefly-infestation.

The spray must be applied to the entire plant, including the underside of the leaves where whiteflies cluster. Black ladybugs can also be used to consume whiteflies. One ladybug can eat up to 150 whitefly eggs each day. Ladybugs are usually found for sale at garden centers. If some portions of the plant are heavily infested, they can be cut off and discarded in a sealed plastic bag.
