How do you get rid of horseflies?

Remove horse flies by hanging several fly traps in the immediate area. Disposable fly traps work well, or construct one with moving parts to attract the flies.

  1. Assemble the fly trap

    Wrap strips of fly paper around the legs of a small stool. Suspend a dark colored ball by a string tied underneath the stool.

  2. Hang the fly trap

    Use a strong cord to hang the stool where most of the horse flies congregate.

  3. Activate the trap

    Swing the ball every few hours. Dark objects in motion attract horse flies, which then get stuck on the fly paper. Change the paper as flies accumulate on it.
