Chinese citizens have the right to vote when they turn 18, they are all equal before the law and all citizens have freedom of religion. Chinese citizens are protected against illegal search and seizure, and they have freedom of speech.
These and other rights are outlined in China's constitution. Along with rights laid out in the document, Chinese citizens also have a responsibility to pay taxes according to the law, to uphold the integrity of the country and to defend against aggression from other countries. Parents are expected to properly raise and educate their children, and the mistreatment of any person is forbidden.
