McNeil Consumer Healthcare recalled Rolaids Softchews on Nov. 15, 2010, following consultations with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, explains the FDA. The company made another recall on Rolaids Softchews on Dec. 9, 2010, on the claim that they contained wood and metal particles, notes WebMD.

The Nov. 15, 2010, recall was a wholesale- and retail-level recall, so consumers were not expected to take any action, and they were free to continue using the product, states the FDA. The company initiated the recall after consumers complained of unusual texture. The recall on Dec. 9, 2010, required consumers to stop using the product and to request a refund from McNeil Consumer Healthcare, notes WebMD.
