How do you root a pineapple top?

In order to plant the top of a pineapple, you must remove the leafy portion, then cut it approximately 1/2 inch below the top. Keep trimming the edge until budding roots appear, and then dry the pineapple out before setting it in soil that covers the root up the leaves and water.
- Cut the pineapple
Cut the top of the pineapple off. Remove the lower hanging leaves, and trim the pineapple until roots appear.
- Dry the top
Dry the pineapple top out for a week before planting it into the soil.
- Plant the base
Plant the base in soil up to the leaves, and water it thoroughly.
