RTV-2 silicone rubber is used in mold making, electronics and special effects. As the primary use for RTV-2 silicone rubber, the mold-making industry produces durable molds that are easy to make and use.

The electronics industry uses RTV-2 silicone rubber for potting, in which workers fill or encapsulate parts or complete electronic assemblies. RTV-2 provides shock resistance and protects components from vibrations, moisture and corrosion.

The special effects industry uses RTV-2 silicone rubber in designing scenes and creating characters for movies, television and theme parks. Special effects artists can make a variety of characters using a skin-like RTV-2, a specially developed blend of silicone rubbers.
