Rustic Texas furniture is a very broad description for a décor style that emphasizes natural wood and metal. It features heavy-duty, old-fashioned metal hardware, visible wood grains and imperfections, re-claimed wood, hand-carved details and rough leather upholstery.

Rustic furniture is known for its solidity and minimal finishing. Wooden pieces are often left unpainted or with just a light oil finish. Frequently entire branches and logs are left almost completely natural with just the minimum amount of shaping needed to fashion a sturdy piece of furniture. Rustic furniture often includes items described as Santa Fe or Southwestern style, which reflect a strong Spanish heritage influence with bold carvings and metal accents. Hunting, ranching and Native American themes are also frequently applied.
