A safe, normal blood sugar level for adults is 100 milligrams per deciliter of blood after fasting and any number less than 140 milligrams per deciliter of blood when checked two hours after eating, states WebMD. Patients who have these blood sugar levels are probably not diabetic.
A safe, normal blood sugar level does not exceed 200 milligrams per deciliter at any time throughout the day, states WebMD. It also shouldn't fall below 60 milligrams per deciliter of blood. However, blood sugar levels are unique to each individual, and some individuals may have higher or lower normal ranges than others.
