It is usually safe to use duct tape to remove warts, according to WebMD. However, people with fragile or thin skin should use this removal method with caution and only try it on growths that they are sure are warts.
The technique requires cutting a piece of duct tape that is the same size as the wart being treated, notes WebMD. The tape is left in position for 6 days; if it falls off, it should be replaced with a new piece. Once 6 days have passed, the tape is removed and the area is soaked in water. A pumice stone or emery board is then used to rub the surface of the wart. The tape is left off overnight, and the process repeated as often as necessary over the course of 2 months until the wart is gone.
